Duk Sunwoo is working at Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs(KIHASA) in Korea, which is operated by central governmental budgets, Ministry of Health and Welfare. He currently serves as the chief (senior Researcher) of long-Term Care Policy center at KIHASA and as the president of the Korean Academy of Long Term Care(2013~2016) and as the vice-president of the Korean Academy of Healthy Longevity. He is a member of Committee and Working Group for Operating Long Term Care Insurance program which was established by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2008 and also serves as the consultant member of National Health Insurance Corporation. He has participated in the model design and development of Korea’s Long-Term Care Insurance program since 2008. Especially, he analyzed as a research director the results of LTCI pilot project which was implemented for three years before officially introducing the program. He served as a head of Forum for developing LTCI program which was established in order to plan the revised contents that will be conducted over the next five years from 2013. Besides, he studied health promotion programs for older persons, especially frail elderly Koreans with restrictions of IADLs and conducted pilot project through community health centers which are operated by regional government budgets and has ever developed the effective exercise program appropriate for muscle strengthening of the frail elderly.
