YU Wei is currently professor and formerly dean of the School of Public Economics & Administration at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, focusing on health economic theory and policy, cost management of medical institutions, medical insurance management, elder care services, etc. He served as an assistant professor at the School of Medicine of Boston University from 1996 to 2000, and has also been a senior researcher with the Healthcare System Health Economics Resource Center of the U.S. Federal Veterans Department, and a senior researcher with the Center for Health Policy of Stanford University since 2000. He is concurrently member of the Policy Consulting Committee of the Chinese State Council Healthcare Reform Office, and sits on the editorial committees of such journals as China Health Policy Research, China Health Economics, and China Health.
